Threat Email Targets Amitabh Bachchan’s:
On Friday, the Mumbai Police were informed about an e-mail containing a bomb threat sent to Mumbai superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s residence.
Authorities received the threatening email from a school in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), according to initial reports.
The Mumbai Police have started an investigation into the incident and are now awaiting further information. It’s unclear, however, which of his Mumbai flats—‘Jalsa’ or ‘Prateeksha ’—was intended to intimidate him.
According to the Mumbai Police, someone had earlier sent a similar threatening email to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) office. A search of the area was conducted, but nothing suspicious was found.
After receiving the threatening email, the BMC—the municipal body responsible for city administration and vital government functions—had swept the security forces of their offices.
The Mumbai Police said that, though searches were conducted after receiving the email, no suspicious objects or materials were recovered.
A similar incident happened earlier on March 20, when the Mumbai Press Club received a threatening email that several small bombs filled with tear gas had been placed inside the building and were scheduled to explode at 1:00 PM.
Initial reports suggest that the email came from an individual using the name ‘Neeraja Ajmal Khan.’ In the message, the sender alleged that 42 devices described as ‘dead gas’ had been placed inside the Press Club building.
The email said, “As Muslims in Coimbatore, we have come to know the harsh truth: The fraudulent Udhayanidhi family has merely used us as a ‘vote bank’ and, in the name of providing security, has instead imposed punishment on us. UAPA (Untested Action Act for Preachers of Colorless Actions) in Tamil Nadu failed us.
The email also stated that the devices were only set up to cause property damage and included a call to evacuate the building.
